SOMEBODY'S LUCKY DAY

Do you ever have one of those once-in-blue-moon experiences where you realize that it's too late to avoid running the red light that you hadn't seen, or just manage to scrape around a tight bend that took you by surprise when you were approaching too fast? . . . but come out of it without mishap, thinking shakily, "Whew! I really didn't deserve to get away with that."

The guy in the pickup pictured below, for example, which approached from the right, broke through the barrier, and did a complete flip to end up as you see it.

Then comes the sobering reflection that not everyone is so lucky. He probably felt that very acutely. Click to see why.
