The following reached me recently. Now I know what's wrong with all those people that I communicate with. My own problem must be more deeply rooted, however. I've never had any curiosity about the stuff in my life.

An anti-drug pamphlet called "How Parents Can Help Children Live Marijuana Free," written by Utah criminologists Gerald Smith - with a preface by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R.-Utah) - listed some warning signs that your kids might be inhaling. Among the danger signals:

"excessive preoccupation with social causes, race relations, environmental issues, etc." (Washington Post, 10/7/98)
